temerairesummermod Now that the exchange is over, this seems like a good opportunity to take feedback, good, bad, and neutral. We welcome all opinions on the exchange as it was run, and as it will be run in the future. Some changes the mods plan to make for next year:
- clear out the tagset and have a separate nominations process before sign-ups. This is a fun way to generate excitement and discussion. It also helps call attention to rarepairs.
- shorten the writing period by two weeks. I know this seems counterintuitive when we had so many people coming down to the wire, but we are hoping the shorter writing period helps with focus, and if it doesn't, it gives us more time for extensions.
- lengthen the anon period from four days to a full week
- get rid of check ins
- lengthen the time between deadline and work reveals to a full week, giving us more time to do pinch hits or extra treats
Questions for the group:
- What did you like about the exchange as run? What did you wish had been done differently?
- If you didn't participate this year, what would help you participate next year?
- Is there any general interest in bringing back audio formats such as podfics or fanmixes?
- What do you think of keeping the current minimum for fics at 500 words versus increasing to 1000 words?
